All Systems: Check

I expect 2023 to be an ultra-productive year. My goal is to write 8 novels, which I think I can do with goo time management and solid outlines. Here's a check-in on my current projects as of March 2023:

The Lazarus Key

I've finished writing The Lazarus Key, a speculative thriller about a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service agent named Sam Brodie who joins a specialized FWS task force that specializes in looking into bizarre wildlife cases (like saber-tooth tigers). For a high concept, think of The X-Files if Mulder and Scully investigated unexplainable wildlife incidents rather than aliens. The manuscript is finished and now out on submission. If book 1 connects well with readers, this will become a series.

Judge Mental

I started writing this serialized superhero story on Wattpad, but I've found a new home for Judge's complete story. It's now finished and with my editor. Details on release date coming soon.

Secondhand Spaceman

I'm now writing a new science fiction novel (likely, a series). I expect to have book 1 finished by end of March and then will decide whether to start on book 2 or switch gears and work on a different project.

Lilly Parker

I have a middle-grade horror novel outlined and all the major characters are worked out, so I expect to write this short book in just a couple of weeks once I start writing it.

Archon

I'm looking forward to begin writing a brand new post-apocalyptic series this year. It has some horrific, nasty zombies in it--a lot meaner and deadlier than the ones in the Deadland Saga! I already have the covers for the first three books, so I'm pretty excited to self-publish this series.  Release dates depend on my wrapping up Secondhand Spaceman first.

Legion Quest

When I'm not working on other projects, I'm writing a portal fantasy that throws a disabled gamer into a Dungeons and Dragons world. It's fun, classic fantasy with a heroic team facing unbeatable odds. I haven't chosen the publication path for this one yet, but I'm considering self-publishing it, possibly even as a series of novelettes to get it to my readers faster.

Bounty Hunter

From a publishing standpoint, I originally had six novels planned for the current story arc, which leaves two more novels to write. Unfortunately, the series hasn't done as well as I hoped, so the remaining two books are sitting on the back burner as I work on other projects first. I do plan to write books 4 and 5 at some point to wrap up the storyline. The first four novels are available on Kindle, everywhere in audio, and in paperback. Oh, and the first novel is also available on the Tales app!

Other Stuff

I have the rights back on the very first novels I published (fantasy romance). I picked up a new cover and plan to package both novels (Knightfall and Hellbound) as a single ebook, which I'll rerelease this year across all ebook retailers under the original series name, Guardians of the Seven Seals.

For a writing tangent, I'm considering entering the podcasting world this year with a voiceover audio narrative. I have a post-apocalyptic story idea. The writing will be the easy part. Handling the new-to-me audio side will be the hard part. I'll keep you posted.
